Grand Canyon from 35,000 feet at 8 am.
I was never supposed to visit Chicago or the Grand Canyon on my trip however, since Flight 809 from SF to Las Vegas was delayed just enough to make me miss my connection to Cleveland, I got to spend a night in Vegas and take this flight from Las Vegas to Chicago.
One time I flew and they showed maps on the tv monitors of where we were flying over in real time. Every other time I’ve flown there is no mention of where you are and what’s below you. On this flight the pilot probably shared my love of seeing the world from 35,000 feet above. He was nice enough to inform us that we were flying over the Grand Canyon. And I was awesome enough to snap this shot.
I glanced at these photos when I got home and didnt think much of them. After a second look yesterday I realized this photo looks absolutely fake… in a good way, like a painting. I love it. This isnt photoshopped or doctored at all.
